Swimming pool conversion to a pond, Hampshire.

The conversion of this unused swimming pool to a wildlife pond has transformed this large formal garden in Hampshire.

The original fibreglass (GRP) membrane was sandblasted and a new black fibreglass membrane applied.

Planting beds were then installed for waterlilies and marginal plants and brick piers for the fountains.

The planting of Cyperus longus in the
marginal planting beds has softened the lines of the stone edge without becoming dominant.

The depth of the pool was not altered and can therefore still used for swimming.
