This pond, with a cascade, has transformed this city garden in Winchester.

The owners of this property wanted a pond for wildlife and aesthetic appeal and a cascade to create that magical sound of running water in this pool at the far end of their long city garden.

After excavation the Firestone EPDM pondliner is fitted.

Indian sandstone slabs are then laid to form the pond edge.

A spillway is constructed using an aluminium former clad in lead.

A pump in the pond delivers water to the upper tank and the water returns to the pond via the spillway.
