Stream restoration, Hungerford, Berkshire.

This man-made woodland stream was originally created by tapping into an existing spring.

Unfortunately the weirs were leaking and the pools had silted up so a partial re-build was required.

The silted pools were carefully excavated and we replaced or repaired the concrete weirs with poured concrete.

Yellow flag-iris, primula and water forget-me-not soon became established.

The images below show how we completed the brief   (click on expanded image for slideshow)

The stream was heavily silted and the old concrete weirs needed replacing.

Wooden shuttering was formed to pour the concrete for the new weirs.

Spillways were also added.

A curved cedar bridge was added where the stream meets the lake.
