Large wildlife pond and associated

landscaping. Somerset.

This pond, near Stourhead, was designed to replace a previous smaller pond that had been empty for many years despite several attempts to repair it with puddled clay. We installed a protected butyl membrane to guarantee water retention which was then partially buried to create submerged pond margins for aquatic planting. The pond measures 40 metres x 30 metres x 2 metres maximum depth.
